Wedding Favors

Have a told ya'll that my wedding was perfect!?! It was, I couldn't have asked for a prettier day and everyone had fun. I was worried having a day wedding that no one dance, but WE DANCED! here are pictures of our Wedding Favors, Cookbooks. Everyone loved the idea and for our 5 year anniversary we are going to do a second addition. It has come in handy since a lot of everyone favorite holiday recipes are all included - My sister said at thanksgiving "This was a great idea, I only needed this cookbook this year and not all five out on my counter" If you have the time it really is a great, usable favor. I used a company called G&R Publishing they were very reasonably priced and they had a super fast turn around.

Warm and Cozy

Last night for my fiance's Dad's Birthday I gave a gift that I know is perfect for this time of year and going into the holidays. William and Sonoma Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows. MMMMMM. This is by far the best hot chocolate ever. I think I may need go pick up a box for my fiance and I and my parents too! HOT CHOCOLATE FOR EVERYONE!!! However after eyeing the hot chocolate box all night I thought about how nice it would be for a winter wedding party favor. You wouldn't have to go out and get the expensive William and Sonoma brand but you could make your own signature mix or buy a high quality cost effective brand and package pretty for your guest to take home and enjoy. Of course you would need a hot chocolate bar at the wedding to match the favors. Your buffet could include chocolate dipped spoons and Cinnamon and peppermint sticks and the really good home made marshmallows. You can have sprinkles and whipped cream and Carmel. Mmmm now I'm sooo in the mood for some warm hot chocolate.

Take me out to the Ball Game

Friday night my family and fiance enjoyed a Braves game at Turner Field. It has been a long time since I saw a baseball game and it was a lot of fun (even with a killer head cold). While watching the game I leaned into my fiance and mentioned that we could have had our wedding here. He looked at me like I was crazy, however in my head I think I ballpark wedding could be cute if maybe you met at the ballpark, or your first date was a braves game. Why not have your wedding be where maybe your fiance proposed on the jumbo-tron. So here is a photo board of a baseball theme wedding! Batter -up! Ideas: mini hamburger and hot dog pass hor'devours baseball card save the dates, team logo grooms cake, baseball cuff links, popcorn and peanut favors, autographed base ball seating cards, and a fire work exit.

Tea for two or two hundred

I have grown up in a house of tea drinkers. I have an antique tea cup collection and probably drink on average 5 cups of tea a day. I love finding new types of tea. It's a healthy alternative to coffee and there some unique flavors and varieties.

I really hope that every bride takes part in a traditional bridal tea. I have hosted a few and I love to give tea as favors.

Tea Forte make cute individual wrapped cone shaped tea bags. They have a wired stem (which is great to bend and hang on the side of your mug). They also make cute wedding favors if you have a cream and green color pallet. This is Oprah's favorite tea too!

I also love Mighty Leaf tea and teas from Teavana (Teavana sells loose tea so you will need to put them in tins). I used a Teavana loose tea for a bridal tea favor. I brewed a pot for the ladies then put the loose tea in small tins and wrapped in a tulle.

Engagement Party Favors

I was too busy having fun to remember to take pictures from the actual night of the party. However here are some pictures of our party favors we made. We purchase small wooden suit cases from our local craft store. We painted them to look like little leather suit cases with brass accidents and travel stamps. Inside we included a sepia toned picture of me and my fiance with the words "Aren't They Sweet Together". We also included green and brown jelly beans to match our green and brown color scheme.

Green Eggs and Ham would match my Green and Brown color scheme I have picked out for the Engagement party, but not as appetizing as the beautiful wedding photos below.

Round Up the Bachlorette Party

Every bachlorette party needs some cowboy actions. wink wink. For a fun gift or party favor for the wild night out. Get these fun beer holsters. They will be keep your hands free for other activities. ( I know shameful)

It's a Gray Day

It is a gray day outside in Atlanta so I thought about a grey color schemed wedding. A gray wedding could either be very modern or very traditional. Here are some gray wedding photos.

Your Guest will go NUTS!

For my best friends wedding I create these cute little boxes of Cinnamon Roasted Almonds and Pecans. It is a simple recipe and fairly price conscious. Feel free to add your favorite nuts or change the combination. I purchased the little white boxes whole sale off the Internet, and the organza ribbon at a local craft store. Make the nuts according to how much you want to give per guest. For my friends wedding we gave each guest a quarter cup. After the nuts have cooled we placed them in small cellophane bags and placed them in the boxes with a little note that said "Thank you for being part of our special day!". I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my friend's guest did! (you can also include the recipe on a tag for a gift that can keep giving)

Cinnamon Roasted Almonds & Pecans
(makes 4 cups)

Ingredients:
1 egg white
1 teaspoon champagne or water
2 cups whole almonds
2 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


Directions:
1.) Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Lightly grease a sheet.
2.) Lightly beat the egg white; add champagne, and beat until frothy but not stiff. Add the nuts and stir until well coated. Mix the sugar, salt and cinnamon. and sprinkle over the nuts. Toss to coat, and spread evenly on the cookie sheet.
3.) Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Allow to cool, then store in airtight container.

For years I have loved the creations at studiosharp.com. Denise Sharp creates beautiful artisan sculptures out of antique and unique paper. The little boxes, crowns, and other party favors are so precious I wish I could buy them all! Add her special designs to your wedding. They would make lovely party favor boxes, or as seen in Martha Stewart Weddings winter 2007 as cake decorations.
